January Meeting 2018 – Topic: Sustainability

On 13 and 14 January, around 40 members of the Robert Bosch Cultural Managers Network – among them representatives of the different Cultural Managers programs, Actors of Urban Change, Tandem Shaml, and Tandem Europe – gathered in Berlin for the Network’s annual meeting.

The main themes of the meeting were sustainability (sustainability of the network, environmental sustainability, financial sustainability, etc.) and advocacy. Our internal discussions about the RBCM Network received inspiration from a talk on ‘The Creative Case for Diversity’ given by Abid Hussain of Arts Council England, and we heard Yohann Floch (On the Move, FACE) share his experiences with advocacy and network sustainability. Various ‘get involved’ sessions provided an opportunity for members to present their projects and work in small groups on some of our current issues, including the integration of new members, the values of the network, benchmarking, and equal opportunities.

This meeting provided an opportunity for us to enjoy Berlin’s cultural and gastronomic life: we visited a show at the Tanztage Berlin 2018 and held a networking brunch on Sunday.
