Open Call: Mudawanat – Podcasts on Arts and Culture in the Arab Region

Within the Grants for Artistic Creativity our friends from Al-Mawred Al-Thaqafy Culture Resource announce the open call for the second round of Mudawanat, a project that aims to support the creation and distribution over the different podcast platforms of Arabic-language audio content on Arts and Culture in the Arab region. Application deadline for the second round: August 1o, 2020:

“The Mudawanat project aims to build a living archive of podcasts that document the contemporary cultural realm. The project encourages the contributors to experiment with the audio genre outside of conventional radio formats and to employ creative methods of storytelling while reflecting on local and regional specificities.”

Open Call: Two Roots – An Artistic Research

Our friends from Gedankendach invite artist from Germany and Ukraine to apply for a two-week retreat to develop a multiperspective answer to a question: ”What had we lost to find?”. Application Deadline: June 15, 2020:

“We invite 16 artists from Germany and Ukraine to explore natural & urban space through a combination of diverse artistic disciplines, as well as from the perspective of two different cultural backgrounds. Our friends from Tallin Art Hall, Tirana Art Lab – Center for Contemporary Art and the ZKM I Center for Art and Media invite art practitioners & theoreticians to apply for production residencies taking place in Karlsruhe, Tallinn, and Tirana. Application Deadline: April 30, 2020:

“The residencies are conceived within the framework of the long-term project “Beyond Matter” and will be hosted by either one of the three partner institutions: the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, Tallinn Art Hall and Tirana Art Lab – Center for Contemporary Art. On-site, fellows are expected to develop an artistic production or a theoretical concept that builds on the core questions underlying the “Beyond Matter”-project.”
